Rental and insurance
Read the main points before booking and download the Vietnamese originals below. The rental agreement is between you and the vehicle owner. The signed agreement and the insurance certificate for your trip determine the applicable terms.
For covered vehicle damage, the Mioto agreement template states a deductible of 2,000,000 VND per incident. This is not an overall liability limit: water damage, exclusions, reductions in compensation and other costs have separate conditions. Check your trip’s insurance certificate and rental agreement.
Original documents
These are unchanged copies hosted by MiotoRent, all in Vietnamese. The insurance PDFs contain general motor insurance rules, not a certificate for your booking. The explanation above is a guide; confirm the applicable edition and trip-specific terms before renting.
The rental agreement
The PDF is an example provided by Mioto, not your completed contract. Confirm the rental period, price, deposit, extra charges and return conditions with the owner before signing. Photograph the car and sign the handover record at pickup and return.
When insurance applies
Section 6 of the template applies only to trips with trip insurance purchased through Mioto, within the registered rental period. It describes collision, fire and explosion cover, with separate conditions for water damage. The insurer, cover and limits for your booking must be confirmed in its insurance certificate.
Deductibles and costs you may have to pay
The template states 2,000,000 VND per incident for covered damage. Water damage has a separate percentage deductible and minimum amount; do not assume the same 2,000,000 VND applies. Check the amounts in your trip’s policy.
Exclusions, reduced compensation or an incident outside the insured period can leave you liable for additional costs or the full loss. The template also provides for loss-of-use charges while the car is repaired; these are not included in a general promise of a 2,000,000 VND cap.
If an incident happens
Prioritise safety. Contact the vehicle owner immediately as your first point of contact. Coordinate with the owner on documenting the incident, reporting the insurance claim and the next steps. Preserve the scene where safe and keep photos and relevant documents. Agree any repairs with the owner and insurer before work starts. Follow the notification procedure and deadlines in your trip’s policy.
